In February 1998, Mermel & McLain
Management LLC through its affiliate JMEC LLC acquired an interest
in 48 Wall Street. Mermel & McLain created and structured this
purchase without brokers directly with the seller, The Bank of New
York. The Bank had occupied the site since its founding in 1794.
JMEC LLC currently is the co-managing member of 48 Wall Street LLC,
the entity that now owns the property.
